  • Robert Edward Hart Memorial Museum, Souillac

    Savanne Road, Souillac, Mauritius .

    Visit the former home of this famous Mauritian poet - La Nef.  You will be transported to a world of prose, poetry and plays.  The house (nicknamed The Nave) initially built from coral has now been rebuilt and pays tribute to the poet's work.  

    The Nave is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 4pm. On Saturdays, it is open from 9am to noon.  The entry is free.

    Admire the largest seashells collection in Africa at World of Seashells! The unique gallery showcases 8,000 seashells from 1,500 species from the collection of Mr. Le Court de Billot.  The gallery takes the visitor on a journey made up of four themes: Myths & Legends, Biology, Mathematical Theories as well as Marine sustainability.  Interactive displays and tablets enable the curious minds to interact and learn more about the shells.

  • Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark

    Located in a private domain, the land of the 7 colors of Chamarel is a clearing that presents 7 variations of colors, oscillating between ocher, brown, red and purplish in the heart of immense vegetation. Besides the dunes, there is also a magnificent viewpoint of the Chamarel waterfall and an endemic forest that opens up to the ebony forest. What about the wildlife? In addition to the land turtles, we can also admire and take pictures of the deer in the area. As a whole, our geopark focuses on connecting people with nature in an enjoyable, entertaining and enlightening manner through geology, education and conservation. We also ensure that our activities be considerate and fair towards the exploitation of the area with all due respect for the environment and for the surrounding communities.
